The Garrison Historical Consortium presents Night Tours in the Garrison Historic Area.
Here's the schedule:
6:45 pm Meet at The Coffee Barbados Café in the grounds of George Washington House.
6:55 pm Torches lit
7:00 pm Tour starts
9:00 pm Tour ends The Coffee Barbados Café.
Highlights of the tour are as follows:
Re-enactment of the flogging death of Irishman.
Tragic death of Stafford Knight 1906.
Court marshals and methods of execution (civil and military) at the Garrison.
The Garrison Fortress 1789 - 1795.
The Cholera graves. Explanation of the 1854 Cholera epidemic.
Re-enactment of the execution by firing squad of a freed African slave.
Sparks Gap, the Garrison coal yard, The Garrison cooperage.
The ‘Black Hospital’.
John Hislop murder - 1809.
Be sure to wear comfortable, reliable shoes for the tour.
AND BRING A FLASHLIGHT.
At the end of the tour, a wide range of refreshments will be in sale at reasonable prices including coffee, cool non-alcoholic beverages, beer, wine and other alcoholic drinks
