Included in the DeAction Beach Waterman Festival this year is the Naish One Stand Up Paddle Championship. Water Sporting activities embracing surfing, paddle boarding and various others at various venues on the island.
The Naish One SUP will attract a number of overseas paddle surfers and will take place in Carlisle Bay.
The festival will also include a street jump-up entitled Jambulay, a beach cricket tournament and musical acts including Simon Pipe and Biggie Irie.
The festival celebrates beach culture in Barbados.
Event organiser is Barbadian Brian Talma, a former professional windsurfer.
The competition embraces all aspects of water sports including:
Paddle Surfing
Surfing
Kitesurfiing
Wind surfing
Swimming
Conch shell blowing
"The objective is to blend the fishing community with the surfing Society," says Brian Talma, organizer.
A waterman has the ability to perform in several water sport activities.
