The festival Barbados looks forward to all year long, this is Kadooment Day!
Join the revellers on the streets from The National Stadium along the route to Spring Garden Highway. It all starts at 9 a.m. when the bands move through the Stadium for the judges and then the revellers hit the road. Each band has its unique costumes, music truck and hundreds of party-goers jumping to the vibrant music. Kadooment Day is a day of celebration of the traditional cane cutting season which has lived on and grown in popularity even though cane cutting is no longer a top earner in Barbados. Kadooment Day has evolved into a colourful spectacular of people dancing along the streets in glitzy and sometimes rather daring costumes not too far off from the ones seen in Rio at Carnival.
Come down and enjoy the day - bring sunblock, hats, cameras and get ready to have a day full of music, dancing, great food and cool drinks! The first bands usually arrive at Spring Garden after 2 p.m.
